At our nursing and care home in West Sussex, we are committed to providing each of our residents with the right care services, offering the level of care and support they want and need, where and when it is required, whatever their particular care, social and emotional needs are.
Our care home provide both residential and nursing care. This offers residents the opportunity to remain in the same home even if their care needs increase, and it also allows for couples to stay together even if they have differing care requirements.
One of the fundamentals of providing good care is to enable and support residents to live their lives as independently as they possibly can, and we know that privacy and choice are important. Our home has a team of highly trained, dedicated and compassionate staff who pride themselves on caring for our residents as they themselves would wish to be cared for.
When planning your care, we treat you as an individual with unique wishes and requirements. Working closely with you and your immediate family, we take time to listen and create a bespoke package of care and activity that is tailored to your personal circumstances, wishes and lifestyle preferences.

Most of our bedrooms are single rooms with en-suite facilities; we have a few double rooms also offer shared assisted bathrooms. Our rooms are comfortable, with telephone and television points as well as Broadband with Wi-Fi access. While we are happy to provide furnished rooms, we know that many residents like to bring small personal items with them to make them feel at home.
Our home has a spacious, comfortable sitting room where people relax and socialise, enjoying television, radios and games, and there are plenty of quiet areas for reading and sitting peacefully. It also offers a library or reading room, hairdressing facilities and outdoor areas where people can enjoy the view, chat with friends and family, or even take part in some light gardening.
Our Care Staff
Training is arguably the most important way to ensure that staff provide quality care. At Aldersmead we work hard to train and develop our staff, and that means those delivering hands-on care as well as our chefs, housekeepers, handy people, administrators and managers. All our staff receive intensive training and carers are required to complete professional qualifications. They all share important personal qualities, including warmth, kindness and a keen wish to improve the lives of others.
Our carers work with our residents and their loved ones to build up meaningful relationships that ensure our residents’ individual health and care needs are continually met. We create a detailed personal care plan to ensure that all our residents, whatever their needs, receive exactly the right level of care and support, where and when it is required. Our dedicated and highly trained care staff listen to your needs and then create a support package that is tailored to your unique preferences and circumstances.
At Aldersmead Care Home, we are passionate about what we do and how we care for the older people who choose to make their home with us. We’ve built our reputation on 30 years of experience in care; we know what good care looks and feels like and we aim for nothing less than this, day in and day out.
